Doux & Doré
Doux & Doré
Celebrating the Art of Baking
June 2024
Doux & Doré is a boutique patisserie concept that needed a visual identity as refined as its desserts. As the brand and visual designer, I set out to translate the craft of French-inspired baking into a cohesive system of logo, packaging, color, and web design. The goal was to balance quiet luxury with warmth, creating a brand that feels curated and modern while still inviting, tactile, and indulgent at every touchpoint.

Project Overview
The project aimed to create a cohesive brand identity for Doux & Doré that feels luxurious yet warm, inspired by French patisseries. Key goals were to develop a distinctive logo and monogram system, a refined color and typography palette, and packaging that showcases the desserts as curated objects, all adaptable across future print and branded touchpoints.
Doux & Doré is a brand identity and packaging project for a boutique patisserie, translating French-inspired desserts into a modern luxury experience through logo, color, typography, and premium packaging.
Doux & Doré began as a concept for a small patisserie that wanted to look as elevated as the desserts it sells. The challenge was to move away from overly sweet or rustic bakery tropes and instead position the brand closer to a high-end jewelry or fragrance house while still feeling inviting. I developed a visual system built around a monogram logo, a muted yet rich color palette, and structured typography that balances refinement with clarity. This identity was then applied to pastry boxes and supporting printed materials, helping Doux & Doré present itself as a thoughtful, craft-driven bakery with a timeless, modern presence.
Approach
I approached Doux & Doré as a complete brand experience, starting with strategy and then building a visual system that feels both luxurious and warm. The goal was to capture French inspired elegance through a restrained monogram, a soft yet grounded color palette, and packaging that presents each pastry as a curated object.
I began with research and discovery defining the brand attributes, mapping competitors, and collecting visual references from French interiors, patisseries, and luxury packaging. From there, I built moodboards and early sketches to explore how Doux & Doré could visually balance refinement with approachability. Next, I iterated on the D&D monogram, logotype, color palette, and typography system, testing them across pastry boxes and supporting print pieces. I refined proportions, materials, and detailing so every touchpoint logo lockups, color blocks, foil accents, and box structures worked together to communicate quiet indulgence and handcrafted quality.
Process
My process combined strategic discovery with iterative design, moving from research and visual exploration to refined identity and packaging that felt cohesive and intentional at every touchpoint.
I started with research into French patisseries, luxury packaging, and competitor brands to define Doux & Doré’s position and core attributes. From there, I built moodboards and sketches to explore directions for the monogram, logotype, and overall visual language. I then developed the color palette and typography system, testing combinations across pastry boxes, labels, and supporting print pieces to ensure consistency and hierarchy. Finally, I refined details like proportions, foil accents, and materials, using realistic mockups to validate how the identity would look and feel in a real retail setting.
My design philosophy for Doux & Doré was to express quiet luxury through restraint, using minimal forms and a limited palette to let texture, color, and negative space carry the feeling of French patisserie craft. Every choice, from the monogram structure to the proportions of the boxes, was meant to balance warmth and precision so the brand feels indulgent yet calm and timeless.
Final Design
The final identity positions Doux & Doré as a refined French-inspired patisserie, using a monogram-led logo system, a muted yet rich color palette, and premium pastry boxes that present each dessert as a carefully crafted object.
The final designs center on the D&D monogram encircled in a simple frame, paired with an elegant wordmark that feels timeless and confident. A palette of Rose Poudré, Crème Douce, Bleu Gris, Terre Brûlée, and Or Doré gives the brand a soft, earthy warmth while still feeling upscale. Typography is restrained and legible, balancing refined serif details with clean sans-serif support to create clear hierarchy across applications. This visual language is brought to life through premium pastry boxes in varying sizes and colors, each treated with subtle foil accents and structured layouts that echo luxury packaging categories like jewelry and fragrance. Supporting print pieces and mockups reinforce the same tone, so every touchpoint from logo to packaging contributes to a cohesive, indulgent brand experience for Doux & Doré.
